The Prophet Muhammad saw said:
"My companions are like the stars. Whichever of them you follow, you will be guided."
The inspiring aspects of the lives of the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad saw should be highlighted mainly for the young people nowadays especially in Malaysia. The Companions were the chosen people by Allah swt to assist the Prophet Muhammad saw in spreading Islam to the world. Their various paths to Islam...sometimes direct, mostly long and tortuous, their devotion to the noble Prophet saw, their endeavours in peace time and their exploits in war...all serve to cast them in a heroic mould. They sacrificed everthing they had to ensure the survival of Islam in this world.
We need to emphasize on the young generation in Malaysia to follow the footsteps of the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad saw in order to produce a "khairul ummah" that will benefit our beloved country. They should be exposed to the struggle of the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad saw since they were very young, perhaps three years old or the sooner, the better...
Names of some of the Companions (radiyallahu anhuma):
Abu Bakr, Umar ibn al-Khattab, Uthman ibn al-Affan, Ali ibn Abu Talib, Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah, Khabbab ibn al-Aratt, Abu Dharr al-Ghifari, Umayr ibn Wahab, Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, Muadh ibn Jabal, Zayd al-Khayr and many more...I believe a few hundred thousands of them...radiyallahu anhuma.
Note:
I would like to dedicate this very short article to my dear brothers from the Ixora Apt, Kajang, Selangor: Abu Mustofa, Mustofa & Ibraheem... "Jazakumullahu khairan kathira for everything".
